FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — Alpha Communications announces the release of the AlphaTouch multi-family smartphone video intercom system.

The video intercom is designed for multi-residential, student housing and commercial buildings, and offers RMR opportunity for installing dealers, according to the company.

The AlphaTouch system is an IP-based, Cloud-hosted, smart video intercom system that allows residents to see and speak to visitors, and release the door, on their smartphone, using their AlphaTouch app.

At its core, the AlphaTouch system features one or more 7.0” touchscreen door entry stations, and provides audio and visual calls without the need for video intercom monitors and their related wiring, labor and power supply requirements.

When each visitor places a call to a resident, or enters an access code, or uses a proximity tag/fob, the AlphaTouch system will take a snapshot of the visitor and record the image with the date and time and resident being called, and whether or not the door strike was activated. This visitor call log can be accessed by the authorities if needed, should there be a security incident in the building.

Smartphone apps for AlphaTouch are available for Android and iOS phones and tablets, and will be updated in the future with more features and capabilities, according to the company.

The company says AlphaTouch also features an industry exclusive patent-pending analog integration, which is said to allow AlphaTouch to work with virtually any existing analog intercom (or video intercom) system, using the existing apt. stations and wiring.

Additional AlphaTouch features include:

  • Cloud-hosted apps and visitor call logs; all updates are done online
  • 3MP 120° view camera with IP quality duplex audio
  • Access control capability and time-limited visitor ‘virtual keys’ (QR codes)
  • All calls to residents and all access control activity is logged with images
  • Ability to call resident telephone numbers using VoIP

The AlphaTouch system can handle any number of door entry stations and any number of building residents, according to the company.

The AT700AS door station model features a sleek surface mount design that protrudes only 1.25”off of the wall.  The system installs using standard CAT5/CAT6 cabling, which connects each door station to a PoE switch. The AT700AS door station has three built-in relays for door release, elevator controls, or other low-voltage applications.
