CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif.—Hikvision, a global manufacturer and supplier of security products and solutions, has announced the release of its new 16 MP 180° PanoVu Network Camera (DS-2CD6944G0-IHS).
The company says that its latest product provides a 180 degrees spliced image empowered by four fixed-focus lenses, this state-of-the-art network camera offers unrivaled resolution close to 6K, delivering superior image detail for comprehensive monitoring.

180° PanoVu Network Camera Offers System Versatility
Originally announced back in early August 2023, Hikvision elaborates on its new panoramic camera by pointing out it is designed to cater to both close-up and large-scale scenes. The 16 MP 180° PanoVu Network Camera was developed to support a wide range of applications. The Calif.-based company states the camera enables users to monitor large areas with its automatic image stitching functionality to ensure comprehensive coverage and eliminating the need for multiple IP addresses, which reduces deployment and licensing expenses.
Hikvision continues its explanation of the product by noting the PanoVu product family goes beyond conventional video security by offering smart human density counting and foot traffic analysis. Through these advanced features, security personnel can monitor and analyze people flow trends, facilitating proactive safety measures for efficient crowd management, commercial applications, and more.
Some of the camera’s other features include a built-in heater capable of operating in temperatures down to -40 degrees C (-40 degrees Fahrenheit) to help ensure the 16 MP 180° PanoVu Network Camera provides uninterrupted performance in extreme weather conditions.
In addition, the housing also features an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, and the camera stands up against vandalism and physical tampering with an IK10 rating.
