CHELMSFORD, Mass. — Axis Communications says it has rolled out a new 5-year warranty, increased from the previous 3-year warranty, in order to continue providing high-quality products and cost-efficient, trouble-free ownership.
Axis has long offered a hardware warranty service covering defects in design, workmanship and material under normal use for 3 years from the date of purchase depending on the product, with the option to extend to 5 years for an added fee. Now, customers automatically benefit from a 5-year Axis warranty service at the start — free of charge, no actions required.
The new Axis 5-year warranty is valid for purchases shipped from Axis to the original purchaser on or after April 1, 2020. Additionally, Axis has increased its grace period to account for shipping and installation.
Previously a warranty’s start date went into effect 3 months from the date a product was shipped from distribution. The new warranty goes into effect 6 months after the distribution date.
Axis has also simplified warranty verification through the use of its latest version of the AXIS Device Manager tool, available later this month. AXIS Device Manager is an on-premise tool used to manage installation and configuration of Axis devices at single or multiple sites including operational tasks, backups, firmware upgrades and cybersecurity controls.
Previously customers were required to go online to axis.com to register and check warranties. Now via AXIS Device Manager, customers can identify all Axis devices on their network, view related warranties and manage their devices.
