ISC West 2022 will be held March 22-25 at the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas. Ahead of this year’s show, SSI heard from Bosch Security Systems Director of Regional Marketing for Video Systems Paul Garms about what the company will be showcasing at ISC West, its value proposition and more.
What is a leading product or offering your company is showing off at ISCW this year, and what makes it unique or special?
At ISC West, Bosch will showcase AIoT video products that act as sensors, gathering information on activity or objects in an area to strengthen the protection of people and property and provide business insights that bring new value to organizations.
For example, booth visitors will experience how the Object Classification (OC) versions of our INTEOX fixed and moving cameras feature new deep neural network-based video analytics that help distinguish, count, and classify vehicles, including cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, and bicycles in congested scenes with precise detail. It can also detect and count people.
This technology provides improved detection of people along perimeters as well as people and vehicle counting in crowded spaces. Demonstrations in the booth will present ways to use data captured by the cameras to improve perimeter security, traffic flow, parking management, and intersection safety.
Any other products or offerings would you like to highlight?
Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) by Bosch is a new offering that enables users to monitor, manage events, record, and replay video security footage in the Cloud from anywhere. It helps site managers, security operators, or operations staff make quick decisions when faced with alarms, preventing them from becoming incidents.
With VSaaS, cameras are the only hardware investment needed on-site, which benefits many businesses — especially those with multiple sites or remote locations — and reduces their capital expenses. It also eliminates maintenance and decreases costly site visits for storage equipment and server upkeep, while creating new recurring revenue streams for integrators.
What else is new or noteworthy about the company for 2022?
Products across our portfolio integrate seamlessly together to increase security and safety, enable more efficient monitoring and control, and automate audio announcements. We will demonstrate the full power of these integrated solutions in a simulated office building within our booth. In this area, visitors will experience how combining AIoT video products, access control and communications technology allows for customized solutions that address challenges often faced by end users.
For example, visitors will also see how activating an emergency pull station connected to a Bosch intrusion control panel can trigger the Bosch public address system to play emergency instructions through a loudspeaker, improving safety for building occupants. New this year, the Bosch G Series is the first combination intrusion and fire control panel to meet UL2572 requirements for mass notification. As a result, the G Series now provides control, visual annunciation and central station reporting for mass notification applications.
What is your company’s overall value proposition to security dealers/integrators? Why should they do business with you?
Bosch offers high quality products backed by excellent service and support. By providing a broad portfolio, seamless integration of products and intelligent devices, we enable integrators to create smart, customized solutions that substantially improve security and offer clear business advantages beyond security by gathering data for informed decision-making.
Our AIoT video products enable solutions that are helping to shape the future of security — one that assists users to predict unforeseen or future situations. They can help prevent things from happening or assist in uncovering business opportunities that create new revenue streams or reduce costs. These capabilities are creating new possibilities for integrators to grow their businesses.
What do you see as some of the top opportunities in the marketplace right now?
Opportunities around Cloud connectivity that enable integrators to offer services to end users will grow. VSaaS offerings — including alarm management, alarm transmission and Cloud storage — provide continuous revenue for integrators long after projects end. Connectivity to the Cloud also supports remote device management, allowing integrators to monitor device status across sites.
If there is an issue, they can troubleshoot by interacting with the devices as if they were on site. They can also receive notifications when new firmware is available and deploy the firmware to multiple devices simultaneously. Online device management improves customer service, while reducing travel requirements and the associated carbon emissions.
Anything else you would like to add?
In addition to the demonstrations at our ISC West booth, we will also host educational breakfast and lunch sessions on the power to predict with AIoT video solutions, VSaaS, intrusion communications solutions and the latest version of our Access Management System. Show attendees can see a schedule of these sessions at the Bosch booth. Our cyber and data security technical trainer, David Brent, will also speak at a SIA session on the current landscape of cybersecurity and its effects on the security industry. We are excited to be back at ISC West to showcase our latest technologies and meet with customers!
