2 Factors Fueling Rapid Adoption of Remote Video Monitoring Solutions

According to Jeremy White, founder of Pro-Vigil, the rapid adoption of remote video monitoring (RVM) solutions will continue in the new year, and more businesses will begin to realize uses for AI-powered video data beyond security.

Here are two ways White believes this will play out:

AI-powered video data will be used for purposes beyond security

Artificial Intelligence (AI) in video surveillance is such a powerful tool, but to gain maximum ROI from the technology, users must be able to understand the data it provides and apply it to their business in a meaningful way. Knowing this, service providers will continue to improve the way AI results and data are reported to users, with an emphasis on making the data accessible and easy to understand, so they can turn the information into meaningful insights that drive their business.

And, as providers get better at reporting the data, users will be able to better use the data for purposes beyond security, such as enforcing compliance, preventing false claims, improving customer service and analyzing foot traffic to improve sales. For example, an auto dealer can view video footage and use the data within to identify the time of day most customers shop, the most trafficked areas on the lot, the most popular cars, and much more.

Remote video monitoring goes mainstream

An unintended side effect of the COVID-19 pandemic has been the rapid adoption of RVM services. Businesses across industries needed a way to protect their properties without being on-site, and RVM provided an easy and affordable solution.

In 2022, we’ll continue to see the use of virtual guards catch on as more businesses realize the benefits of having around-the-clock protection, whether someone is physically on-site or not. RVM is no longer the “new kid on the block”; it has emerged as the leading way to deter crime.

Based in San Antonio, Pro-Vigil is a provider of mobile and portable surveillance units, live video monitoring, event-based surveillance and IP health monitoring.
