COPPELL, Texas — The newly announced IDIS AI Box for Retail (DV-1304) is a security solution designed to give retailers the benefits of A.I.-powered devices without the typical, associated price tag.
IDIS says that as more retailers use analytic-driven metrics of in-store activities to increase sales and build customer relations, its new product makes an analytics approach more cost effective.
“As retailers look to build customer loyalty and adapt to tough trading conditions, more than ever they need affordable tools and technology to help them drive efficiency across their operations. Video analytics has a vital role to play, and our AI Retail Box is designed as a practical, affordable solution that will deliver immediate advantages,” says Andrew Myung, president, IDIS America.
The Texas-based company says the IDIS AI Box for Retail is an NDAA-compliant, 4-channel add-on appliance that provides users additional functions from their existing IDIS DirectIP network camera, NVRs or new security systems.
IDIS states the advantages of the solution’s plug-and-play installation and no upfront or subscription fees offers retailers an A.I. solution that includes queue monitoring, heat mapping occupancy monitoring and real-time activity data from specific locations.
It also explains the IDIS AI Box for Retail delivers analytics using cameras that are positioned for perspective view without needing top-view cameras. The company says this minimizes the investment into cameras for retailers and the cost savings enables users to analyze a wide variety of metrics.
Other features the new IDIS A.I.-based product offers include a dashboard that is capable of integrating up to 32 channels, and the unit also provides at-a-glance intelligence reports to allow local managers and head-office teams the ability to easily generate reports.
In addition, the IDIS AI Box for Retail also incorporates the ability to help retailers prevent future infection risks through its mask detection, occupancy and social-distancing controls.
