Global Security Exchange (GSX) 2022 will take place Sept. 12-14 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta and via the online GSX event platform. Ahead of this year’s show, SSI spoke with Tim Palmquist, Milestone vice president, Americas, to discuss what the company will be showcasing at GSX, its value proposition for security dealers and more.
What is the top product or offering you are showing off at GSX 2022, and what makes it unique or special from both security integrator and user perspectives?
In R1 2022, we introduced the XProtect Management Server Failover as an add-on product. As a result, users are now able to keep their systems up and running without disruption, resulting in greater peace of mind. In R2 2022, we introduced the XProtect Incident Manager allowing users to manage incidents directly in their VMS and connect video footage with those incidents as they unfold. These innovations continue to raise the bar on higher performing video technology software and meet the market’s rising demand for comprehensive, best-in-class, turnkey video technology solutions.
What other products or offerings would you like to highlight, and what are some of qualities that differentiate them in the marketplace?
We’re still finding increased interest and traction of XProtect running on AWS. With XProtect on AWS, Milestone is enabling large enterprises to have greater ease and flexibility in their security infrastructure without having to maintain traditional hardware on-premises. We also offer XProtect Rapid REVIEW, which enables Milestone’s customers to accelerate investigations and review hours of video recordings in minutes, bringing enhanced decision-making and momentum to any investigation.
Then there is Husky IVO which comes pre-loaded with XProtect, designed for ease-of-use and saving time on hardware setup and installation. And, finally, the innovation that comes through our partners always ensures that we are a thriving community of video technology solutions offering optimal choices to our customers.
What else is new or noteworthy about the company as the end of 2022 draws near?
We were hiring all year and we are continuing to hire at a brisk pace. We are very optimistic about our industry and its future, even if we have been through and continue to endure times of economic uncertainty. We will continue to be an active employer, seeking new talent across the industry.
What is your company’s overall value proposition to installing security dealers/integrators? Why should they partner with your company?
The freedom to choose and innovate with the aggregation of 3rd party innovation continues to be an important topic. It’s always current, relevant and true at Milestone. Not only do we embrace partnerships to bring innovation to the market, but we have a strong reputation of being a willing participant in those partnerships. We’re a friendly brand.
Looking ahead at 2023, what do you see as some of the top opportunities in the marketplace? What about challenges?
We should look forward to Milestone taking a stronger a position around Cloud in our product portfolio. We should also look forward to Milestone having a better position in ease of installation and use in the mid to mid-low parts of the market with our product portfolio that will continue to evolve. This is fertile ground in our industry. We are also looking at creating new ways to add analytic intelligence in our solutions across the network.
