It’s probably no surprise what this month’s top story is. When Interlogix announced it would “wind down” by the end of the year, integrators across the country suddenly had to find a new panel manufacturer.
The announcement came despite the fact the UTC-owned company made several big announcements earlier in the year, including the return of the Security Pro dealer program and launch of a new scalable commercial security solution.
SSI spoke with various security pros that voiced their surprise and concerns over the decision. You can read those insights, here.
Kirk MacDowell, president of MacGuard Security Advisors, also contributed a blog in which he discusses what he believes led to the demise of Interlogix.
Vivint finds itself on the top 10 list again this month, though you may be surprised to learn that it isn’t for a legal dispute this time.
The company will merge with Mosaic Acquisition Corp., a publicly traded special purpose acquisition company based in New York City, and then plans to go public soon after.
You’ll also find an in-depth profile on Allied Universal and its plans to expand beyond manned security, major news from GSX 2019 and more.
