The most-read story of 2022 was news of Securitas being ordered to pay $517 million in a Surfside Condo collapse settlement. SSI Columnist Jeff Zwirn wrote about the collapse earlier in the year, taking a look at what could have been done to reduce, if not totally eliminate, the loss of life — integral best practices for every security dealer and central monitoring station worth checking out.
Also popular in 2022 were legal issues involving companies such as ADT, Resideo/Honeywell and ASSA ABLOY, as well as continued restrictions against China-based manufacturers Hikvision and Dahua. Check them out in the slideshow!
