Top 5 Surveillance Videos of the Week: Hero Dad Shields Children From Gunfire

admincamera, security, Video

The coronavirus has had a serious impact on our daily lives. Not even the top surveillance videos of the week are immune to COVID-19.

Due to much of the country (and world) still wary of being out and about in public, there is unsurprisingly a lack of new interesting surveillance videos. In order to make sure we can keep bringing you this weekly feature to help lighten the mood in these trying times, we will temporarily be reducing the number of videos from 9 to 5.

Now, on to this week’s top surveillance videos…

We’ve seen super-dads in the top surveillance videos before, but this latest one might be the most selfless. Surveillance video from inside a Bronx car dealership shows a man sitting on a couch with his three children.

Suddenly, a glass door explodes as gunmen open fire on a man inside the dealership — the family literally caught in the middle. The children drop to the floor and their dad immediately jumps on top of them to shield them.

He would end up taking a bullet to the thigh but his kids ended up unharmed. Police say the shooting was gang-related.

Also this week…

We see a lot of terrible things captured by surveillance cameras, so it’s always nice to find footage of a good samaritan. A 62-year old pedestrian was run over by a speeding SUV in Manhattan recently, but saved by a nearby deli owner.

After being run over, the man was lying under the car while it looked like the driver was about to shift into reverse and run over him again. Fortunately, the deli owner pulled him to safety just in time.
