They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. However, there are certain people you should never imitate, for example, first responders.
In a strange incident that occurred in New Mexico, an 18-year-old was arrested for impersonating a police officer.
Body cam footage shows an officer pull over to assist what looks like a motor vehicle stop. As he gets closer to the scene, it becomes clear something is off.
The police officer approaches the teen that is writing a ticket and sees that he is in plain clothes except for a badge on his belt.
After giving a story about why he pulled the car over, the teen is asked for ID and then says he knows he is “under-equipped.” The officer eventually arrests him.
Also this week…
A man in Sacramento thought he was being clever when he went to an open house and tampered with a home security system. He took batteries out of alarms and replaced them upside down.
Unfortunately for him, it didn’t occur to him that if there is a security system, there are also likely cameras. After realizing he was caught, he put the camera on the floor and then unplugged it. The homeowner believes he has done the same thing at other open houses.
