Top 9 Surveillance Videos of the Week: Man Rescues Puppy From Gator With Bare Hands

In this week’s Top Surveillance Videos…

Most people would do anything for their dogs, and this guy in Florida is no exception. Video shows a man emerge from a body of water with a gator in his hands. In the gator’s mouth? The man’s puppy.

The man then sits on the gator and pries open its mouth with his bare hands, eventually setting the dog free. Perhaps the most impressive part? He never loses the cigar between his teeth.

When I first saw this video on my local news, I wondered how the footage was recorded since it was so clear. Did the gator grab his dog and then he decided to set up his phone to record the incident? Was this somehow staged?

It turns out the event was captured by a wildlife camera that was setup by the Florida Wildlife Federation and the fSTOP Foundation.

Also this week…

The combination of the holiday season and stay-at-home shopping caused by the pandemic will result in an unprecedented number of packages be delivered this month. Unsurprisingly, this will also result in a rise of package thefts. It’s important online shoppers be vigilant.

To see how long it takes for a package to be stolen, Inside Edition conducted an experiment by putting a package on a Brooklyn stoop and then watched for porch pirates.

Turns out, it doesn’t take long. Both packages were stolen in under three minutes.

Make sure to check out the rest of this week’s top surveillance videos, which include a restaurant owner fighting off a gunman, a jewelry robbery and more.
